Director, R&D

Our client is an established multinational group which owns a range of industrial manufacturing operations. A leader in many of the product categories, it is an outstanding and well-known organization in several countries. We are now seeking a well-qualified individual to join one of their division, the Battery division, as a Director, R&D to lead their R&D team.

Job Scope

  • Reporting to senior management of the Division
  • In Charge of R&D team in leading battery development, testing and research projects
  • Ensure overall product manufacturability
  • Oversee and manage process control
  • The role is located in either Hong Kong or Guangzhou, China

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/ Material Science. PHD/ Master would be an advantage
  • Good command of English and Chinese
  • Background and experience in battery design and development (rechargeable lithium technology will be an asset)
  • Track record of new product development
  • Possess a good vision for future technological development
  • Strong passion for product excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Mobility to travel when necessary

Assistant / Manager (Plan Approval / Marine Design)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK SCOPE:

  1. Responsible for basic and detailed marine systems design to support tender for new construction;
  2. Responsible to prepare tender specification, system drawings, calculations etc to support project tender;
  3. Managed a team of Engineers / Assistant Engineers in Marine Systems/Mechanical Dept to meet project requirements;
  4. Liaise with project managers, customers, ship owner’s representatives, classification society surveyors, and other relevant authorities for all technical issues pertaining to ship / marine system design;
  5. Liaise with marine equipment suppliers for equipment selection to meet ship / marine system requirements;
  6. Participate in system commissioning and sea acceptance trials to resolve technical issues with customers, ship owner’s representatives, classification society surveyors, and other relevant authorities as and when required.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  1. Minimum degree holder in mechanical and/or marine disciple with more than 10 years working experience in marine industry preferably in sipyard design office, engineering office, marine consultant / design house and / or classification societies and holding management positions for last 3 - 5 years;
  2. Knowledge on marine / ship systems design requirements such as Classification Society Rules, IMO Regulations, SOLAS Requirements, and general marine standards and practices;
  3. Knowledge of design / drawing systems software such as Tribon, Auto-Cad etc
  4. Either Chief Engineer Certificate or with at least 5-10 years of mechanical plan approval experience in Classification Societies
  5. The candidate should have positive attitude and possess good command of Spoken and Written English.

Process Manager (FEED)

Our client is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier, with a reputation for delivering high quality, technically-advanced, reliable facilities and equipment on time, on budget and with a world-class safety record. They are hiring a Process Manager to ensure the maintenance of process engineering records, and planning for the improvement.


In this role, you will need to constantly abreast of technical developments in the process industries by maintaining contact with clients, research institutions and technical societies. You have to supervise the Process Engineers and take responsibility for technical accuracy, quality and economy of process design. You are also required to ensure proper usage of the client systems and tools to ensure consistency in carrying out process activities.


To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Diploma/ Degree in relevant engineering
  • At least 15 years of Process Design experience in Refinery, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Petrochemical Plants.
  • Experience in the preparation of grass root refinery and petrochemicals feasibility report.
  • Experience in the development and preparation of Basic and Front End Design Engineering Packages including Basis of Design, HMB, PFD, P&IDs etc
  • Capability and experience in proposing and reviewing Process Guarantees of process units
  • Knowledge of technology supplier and experience in refinery LP modelling (PIMS or equivalent) and capability to define and optimize refinery processing scheme to meet set objectives
  • Knowledge of process simulation using commercial process simulators (Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys, PROLL etc) and experience in process design of open art refinery units.
