Process Engineer - (Injection Mold)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Injection Mold Process Engineer is responsible for supporting process reliability for Solaria’s injection molding operations and performing direct (hands-on) troubleshooting and process improvement through root-cause analysis and elimination in the molding processes. He manages process improvement projects including determining project scope and resource needs, establishing mold and equipment specifications, and developing and executing validation protocols. He must have the ability to do cost analysis for various types of injection molding and plastic materials. He also ensures compliance/improvement of business systems in manufacturing. This position interacts with numerous functional levels within the facility, suppliers, and other stake holders.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Male
• 25 - 35 yrs. Old.
• Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering, Plastics, or Scientific field
• Basic understanding of pneumatics, refrigeration, plastic extruder & 3 phase motor.
• Minimum 5 years in a plastics manufacturing environment, including operation of molding machines in the 200-500 ton range
• Thorough understanding of injection molding principles
• Hands on experience or knowledge in running and setting robots, mtc and other injection molding auxiliary equipments.
• Experience in statistical process control and other similar quality improvement methodologies and techniques
• Ability to analyze, diagnose and correct plastics defects.
• Basic knowledge on common plastics properties and behavior.
• With good moral character and lots of creativity.
• Preferably residing within Dasmarinas Cavite Area.
• Team player and willing to work shifting and can work with less supervision.
• Knowledge with environmental & pollution control and safety is also a plus

Company Background:

Technological Institute of the Philippines

In February 8, 1962, a group of educators headed by Engr. Demetrio A. Quirino Jr. established the Technological Institute of the Philippines. Engr. Demetrio A. Quirino Jr. was also the school's first President. He was later joined in 1967 by his wife. Dr. Teresita U. Quirino, who became the school's first Dean of Education. Dr. Teresita U. Quirino later on took over as President of the school in 1974.

TIP laid down its objectives: (1) to maintain a high standard of instruction; (2) to bring within the reach of the masses the blessings of higher education; and (3) to cooperate with the government in the implementation of its amelioration programs.

TIP committed itself to educating and developing men and women who could turn the wheels of progress and industry. It offered courses such as Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture and Commerce. It also offered Industrial Education, Industrial Arts, Liberal Arts, High School and Technical-Vocational courses. Its first site was the Lorenzana Building in Quiapo, Manila. The school had an initial enrolment of 2,400 which steadily increased, prompting the school to lease other buildings. In 1967, it set up its main site at 888 G. Puyat St., Quiapo, Manila.

TIP then directed itself toward specialization in the field of technology. In 1977, it offered a two-year associate course in Marine Engineering. In 1980, the Liberal Arts and high school programs were phased out to make way for the school's new thrust. In 1981, additional buildings were leased to accommodate the student population which already exceeded 23,000.

TIP opened in 1983 its Quezon City campus located at 20th Avenue, Cubao. TIP Quezon City through the years acquired some adjacent properties including a frontage along Aurora Boulevard. The Quezon City campus has eight (8) main buildings spread out in the 2.8-hectare site.

TIP Manila has also acquired ownership of three major sites namely Arlegui, Puyat, and the Castillejos and Casal properties. A six-storey building called the Founder's Hall was inaugurated on February 5, 1997 in TIP Casal, Manila. A new six-storey building in TIP Arlegui was recently completed to complement the two existing buildings there.

A 9.5-hectare property in Noveleta, Cavite houses the TIP Seaside Maritime Training Center. It is currently being used for Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation students' training.

The current TIP President is Dr. Elizabeth Q. Lahoz, the eldest daughter of Engr. Demitrio A. Quirino Jr. and Dr. Teresita U. Quirino, the current Chairman and Vice-Chairwoman of the Board of TIP, respectively.
